The supreme court ruled that the Electricity Board cannot be held liable for the death resulting from voluntary act of touching a live electric wire.

Writ Appeal (W.A. No.938 of 2016) was filed before the BEFORE THE MADURAI BENCH OF MADRAS HIGH COURT by the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board being aggrieved by the order passed by the learned Single Judge in W.P. (MD).No.10140 of 2008 dated 16.12.2014, wherein, the writ petitioners sought for compensation for the death of their son due to electrocution.
